Cushioned Laundry Basket Handles
I hate doing laundry, but unfortunately, it's one of those things that must be done regularly (If someone has found a way around this, please let me know ASAP!). My husband hates it more than I do, so unless I want to hear more whining and complaining that what's already going through my own head, I do it.
We are on a budget and I prefer to spend my money onMountain Dew more fun stuff, so when it comes to laundry baskets, I go cheap. Nothing fancy. Unfortunately, the cheap molded plastic is not very nice on my hands when I'm carrying loads of laundry up and down the stairs. It can be quite painful. So the other day, I decided to fix up my laundry baskets with some padded handles.

Amazingly Adorable Sock Snowmen
I will come out and admit that I'm terrible at keeping up with this blog, but I found something too cute to resist blogging about.
I found the most adorable tutorial for sock snowmen on Pinterest from Then She Made. My husband was stuck on his video game on Sunday night, so I took the opportunity to go out and buy some supplies. :-) I had a hard time buying the decorative socks. The cheap $1.50 ones were all neon colors and the adorable ones were $3, which isn't terrible, but I usually buy socks in a package so that they cost less per pair. It was also difficult to cut up such adorable socks, but I managed and I'm glad I did.

Braided Headbands
I'm terrible at figuring out what to do with my hair. It's layered, there's a lot of it, and I'm not terribly good at doing anything semi-complicated with it, particularly since I can't really see what I'm doing. So when I do find something easy, I latch on it to it.

Button Necklaces
A few months ago, I made a necklace out of buttons to wear to a wedding. I wore it again the other night to band, and my friend Dawn came up to me and told me she wanted to learn how to make one. Word-of-mouth instructions wouldn't work; she wanted a hands-on tutorial. So I invited her and another band friend, Molly, who happened to join our conversation, which also included Pinterest, over to make button necklaces.

Shoe Re-Do
While Stumbling one day, I found this blog post, which covers a tutorial for re-doing shoes with Mod Podge. I happened to have an old pair of brown heels that I haven't worn in years, along with some gray plaid fabric, left over from another project, and a cold, gray January Saturday. Let the fun begin!

Joining the 21st Century
I finally broke down and did it; I started a blog. I've been thinking about it for a while and caved in tonight when a crafty project went well and I wanted to share it.
Let me introduce myself: My name is Myka F. I'm a 24-year-old woman and I'm married to the amazing Joe. I'm a computer programmer by day, a DIY and photography guru by night. I'd like to use this blog to share some of my photos and crafty ideas and projects with the world.
